A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to keep in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you have a Linux shared website hosting with us and you would like to enable the catch-all feature for a particular email mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally only a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can select one email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be activated with ease if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created using the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll see a small symbol conveniently located directly next to each of them. With just one mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this option through the context menu that will come into view. In case any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will let you know, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
